Top Up Cleans

Do you own a property that is rented out, and has been for many years?

You probably already know that tenants are required to leave a property reasonably clean when they vacate.

However, after several tenancies, properties are not quite as clean as they were when the first tenant moved in – which can be 10 years before.

In these cases, we recommend a top-up clean so that we can bring the property back to a very high standard and fetch the optimum market rent.

Your agent can arrange this with their cleaners.

The top 5 areas are:

1. The Kitchen – including the stovetop, rangehood & oven

2. Bathroom – grouting in and around the shower, shower screen, bath and basin

3. Gardens – prune all the tall bushes down to a level where a tenant can reach to continue maintaining them

4. Windows and window sills

5. Floor coverings – carpets steam cleaned and floor boards or tiles steam mopped.

Today tenants have a higher expectation of cleanliness and presentation than ever before.

When you are willing to invest back into your rental property with the long-term view of your return, you are meeting the current market expectation and you will continue to attract the best tenants for your property.

Also, it’s good to be mindful of other areas of the property that might need renewing or updating. Focusing on making your property the best it can be at all times means that when it comes time to sell, you will receive the best price possible without having to spend a lot of money making it sale-ready.
